On July 18th, Shepa passed away. John Unger announced this on his Facebook page. The famous dog had reached the age of 20 years and one month.
It should be mentioned that John’s four-legged pet suffered from arthritis and dysplasia of the hip joints. Due to the pain, the animal could not even sleep properly. John discovered that water helped to relieve his companion’s suffering. So they would go to the lake together, where they would swim for a long time. John would hold the dog in his arms, and the animal would relax and fall asleep, resting its head on the owner’s shoulder.
Thanks to the kind-hearted people, more than 25,000 dollars were raised. These funds were used to cover the veterinary expenses of both Shepa and other dogs whose owners did not have enough money to provide special care for their aging pets. Condolences are being sent to John Unger from all over the world.
