信念——就是力量。1 张照片
«A person will not become a genius until they believe that they possess genius.»
\r\nWe navigate through life guided by our beliefs. We act as if these beliefs are true, regardless of whether they actually are. Beliefs are generalizations based on past experiences that shape our future reactions. They are the principles that underlie our actions.
\r\nWe truly believe in these beliefs, and what we believe has a much stronger impact on our lives than any objective reality. For example, your beliefs about your health—whether you “feel great” or “are always in pain”—affect how long you will live. You may not know whether these beliefs are true, but you act as if they are, and you see the results accordingly.
Since the outcome directly depends on a correct starting point (correct beliefs), good outcomes require positive beliefs. Simply put: if you think everything will go wrong, it will; if you think it will go well, it will. Personally, I prefer the second option. I constantly think this way, believe in it, and focus on the good.
\r\nWhere do beliefs come from? From everywhere: from people we regard as authorities, from newspapers, magazines, books, and even television. Of course, it’s important to communicate and read—these activities greatly help us develop our beliefs.
\r\nHowever, we must be very careful in forming the beliefs we accept. We need to get rid of those that are negative or limiting and instead adopt those that are beneficial.
\r\nFor example, an older brother might criticize his sister for being careless, foolish, or lacking critical thinking. As she grows up, she may develop various complexes: she might feel ashamed of her height, be afraid to answer questions in class for fear of appearing stupid, and avoid interacting with young people. Over time, she may come to believe that she is not intelligent, beautiful, or neat enough to please others. As a result, she may become increasingly withdrawn and passive, even though she is actually very attractive.
\r\nBeliefs have a tremendous influence on our lives. They can greatly help us, but only if they are positive and beneficial—that is, if they correspond to the reality of our situation and help us overcome challenges.
\r\nLet’s get more specific.
\r\nHere are some negative or limiting beliefs:
\r\n«>No one loves me.»\r\n«>I’m not beautiful(ish).»\r\n«>I can’t communicate well with people.»\r\n«>If I achieve what I want, I will lose something else in return.»\r\n\p>And some more common ones:\r\n«>I never succeed in anything.»\r\n«>All the judges are biased. I won’t try to defend myself in court.»\r\nBeliefs like these literally doomed you to failure from the start.
\r\n\r\nNow, here are some positive and beneficial beliefs:
\r\n«>The world around me is friendly.»\r\n«>I will succeed in everything I try.»\r\n«>I know what I want and I will achieve it.»\r\n«>I am unique.»\r\n«>Only I am responsible for my own life.»\r\nWhose life is more likely to be bright, interesting, and fulfilling? What beliefs does that person have? Remember that guy in the movie who tells himself in front of the mirror before leaving home: “You’re amazing; you will succeed.”
\r\nFeel the difference.)
