Local History Museum Boykivschina, Valley
The grand opening was timed to the first Boyk festival in Prykarpattya. Tatyana and Emelyan Antonovich, having moved to the US, opened a charity fund, whose main task was to "promote the development of Ukrainian culture" in different spheres.
What can you see in the museum "Boykivshchyna"
In the museum you can learn a lot of information about the historical, cultural development, natural resources of the ethnographic region of the Carpathian Mountains called Boykivshchina. Regardless of its antiquity, authenticity and singularity, it has not been properly studied to the present day.
Of considerable interest is the re-creation of the external and internal appearance of the classic Boyka dwelling. Presented are genuine furniture, household items, tools, national boykov dresses, as well as Easter eggs embroidered with colored threads, a collection of dolls, religious objects from the 16th and 18th centuries, archaeological finds.
Other departments of the museum represent the natural beauty of this Carpathian corner, the history of the Valley, ethnographic features of everyday life. There is also an office for the memory of the Antonovic couple, where documentary evidence about their life in America and about sponsorship is collected.
The museum hosts a variety of very interesting themed programs. First of all - a fact-finding, then there is a story about the Antonovic family and the history of the Valley, about the famous people of Boykivshchina, about the artists of the region and about the natural resources of the Carpathian region.
In addition, it offers an interesting familiarization routes to the Goshevsky Monastery, to the rocks of Dovbush.
