Czech quarter, Hust
Of particular interest to tourists are the cities of Ukraine, which in different periods of their history were part of various states. In such cities, you can find a unique mixof Western culture with local flavor. Khust is one of those places.
The Czech Quarter is one of the attractions of the city. It was built in 1924-1925. The project was created by Prague architects, all buildings of the quarter are made in the Art Nouveau style. When this quarter was built, Khust was a part of Czechoslovakia. The quarter was created for Czech officers and employees of the administration. In addition to administrative buildings, there was everything necessary for life. It was a town in the city: in the quarter there were hospitals, educational institutions and houses.
Neat two-story housesare built of wood and stone, decorated with red tiles. This is a very cozy and warm place, which is called "little Prague". Today, some buildings of the quarter fulfill their original functions. Others continue to please the eye of all passing by its simplicity, laconicism and beauty.
