Irdynsky Vinogradsky Holy Assumption Monastery

The first literary references to the Vinogradsky Holy Assumption Monastery are dated to the beginning of the 17th century. However, it is not known when the monastery was built. The name "Irdinsky" comes from the Irdyn River flowing nearby.

The name "Vinogradsky" was fixed later, when the local monks planted vineyards a few versts from the monastery.

The economic activity of the monks was very diverse. In particular, in the monastery garden for sale various, including their own, varieties of plums and apples. Profits from the sale of vegetables, berries, dairy products and eggs were received. Seriously engaged in livestock breeding - bred oxen, cows, bulls, calves and horses. Also, monks had income from the provision of church and religious services to the public.

There were in the history of the monastery and sad moments. It is believed that the whole monastery suffered from the Turks and Tatars, who constantly made predatory raids in these places, as well as from the Poles who fought against Orthodoxy, planting Uniatism. But the complete destruction of the Holy Assumption Monastery took place already in the Soviet era. At first, the new government turned the monastery into an orphanage for lepers, and later - in the psycho-neurological boarding school.

Until now, none of the buildings of the Vinogradsky Holy Dormition Monastery has survived. Survived only underground cell, the only one of the branched cave complex. The time of the appearance of these caves is unknown, but, according to the conviction of the monks, they existed since the 14th century.
