House Grachev, Nikolaev
The owner of the house was Alexander Fyodorovich Grachev, a well-known political figure, a state councilor, a vowel of the city duma. He lived here for a long time, already during the time of the revolution, Alexander Fyodorovich was shot by the Bolsheviks.
According to other information, which was published in Yuri Kryuchkov's book The City of St. Nicholas, this building was built in the late 19th century by the famous architect Andreyevsky as a personal estate and he lived there personally.
Today in the former house of Grachev there is a state institution- the department for capital construction of the Mykolaiv regional state administration. This two-storey building is built of brick. The facade is fully decorated with windows framed by decorative stucco molding. An asymmetrical staircase leads to the entrance. Grachev's house is painted in a soft blue color. In the courtyard of the building are economic outbuildings and several storage facilities.
The house of Grachev is a fine example of the town-planning architecture of the late 19th century in Nikolaev. It is one of the main architectural pearls of the city, which every tourist should visit.
