Monument to the Bull-breadwinner in Berdyansk

Berdyansk is a resort town located on the shore of the Azov Sea. Most of the monuments in Berdyansk are located along the chic embankment. But most often the attention is drawn to the monument to the Bull-breadwinner.

It was this fish that saved most of Berdyansk's population from hunger in wartime.At all times fishing was one of the favorite activities of men and children. The bull's catches were huge, up to 90 thousand tons per year. But later, in the 70's, he disappeared. Residents decided that this type of fish was all caught and established as a token of gratitude to the monument, believing that they would not be more bullied. And what was their surprise, when a year later the catch of this fish was again allowed on an industrial scale.
