About an hour's drive from Kiev in the thick of dark cold water is a mysterious church. A lot of mysterious stories tell about this place. Someone says that the church is deep under water, and only the domes are visible from the water.
And someone claims that at night this place is filled with ghosts of those residents who were taken away by water, and they wander in search of their home.
It should be said that at this place there used to be a village called Gusintsy. But in 1927, as a result of the construction of the Kanevsky reservoir, several villages appeared under the water. Residents of the surroundings Rzhishchev moved to a safe area, but under the Dnieper waters found themselves one of the most fertile soils around the world. Some still argue about the feasibility and economic effect of the construction of the reservoir. Whatever it was, the church - the only thing that could miraculously survive. And now, as a reminder of the old times, she continues to stand on a small island.
The amazing architectural monument strikes with its beauty. The building of the temple stood, despite the water, wind and rain. Inside the church, even the murals have survived, allowing one to judge the former beauty of the shrine.

Walking along the Pechersky district of Kiev, you can see the majestic monument to Hetman Pilip Orlik, who was installed on the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. To create a composition, this historical personality was chosen not in vain. After all, Orlik is considered the author of the first Ukrainian Constitution, written in the days of the Cossacks. Absolutely logical is that the sculpture depicts the hetman at the time of signing the historical document. In itself, the spatial composition, consists of many elements (weapons, art objects, attributes of state power) and is located on both sides of the alley. This allows you to examine all the details of the monument well. However, the main compositional feature of the sculpture is the realistic eyes of the hetman, conveying a wary, slightly sad and at the same time masculine look. According to historians, the monument reflects, rather, the collective image of the Ukrainian Cossack, rather than the true portrait of Pylyp Orlyk. If you will walk along the Kiev Limes, take a look at this monument to the Ukrainian Cossacks.
