Walking along the Pechersky district of Kiev, you can see the majestic monument to Hetman Pilip Orlik, who was installed on the 15th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. To create a composition, this historical personality was chosen not in vain. After all, Orlik is considered the author of the first Ukrainian Constitution, written in the days of the Cossacks.
Absolutely logical is that the sculpture depicts the hetman at the time of signing the historical document. In itself, the spatial composition, consists of many elements (weapons, art objects, attributes of state power) and is located on both sides of the alley. This allows you to examine all the details of the monument well. However, the main compositional feature of the sculpture is the realistic eyes of the hetman, conveying a wary, slightly sad and at the same time masculine look. According to historians, the monument reflects, rather, the collective image of the Ukrainian Cossack, rather than the true portrait of Pylyp Orlyk.
If you will walk along the Kiev Limes, take a look at this monument to the Ukrainian Cossacks.
