Leopold Levitsky Art and Memorial Museum

Leopold Levitsky - this is a significant figure in the world of art, whose activities have had a significant impact on the development of Lviv painting. Being a talented graphic artist and painter of the 20th century, he also co-founded the famous Polish association of avant-garde artists - the "Krakow Group", which played a significant role in the development of art in Poland.

The museum of Leopold Levitsky, founded in April 1984, is located in the former house of the artist, where he lived and worked from 1946 to 1973. The exposition is located in three rooms of the apartment. Here, in full measure, a unique atmosphere was recreated that inspired Leopold Levitsky for creativity. In this house frequent guests were famous Lviv artists, as well as novice creators, who became disciples of the greatest master of his era.

Moving from room to room of the museum, you can see the entire creative biography of the artist. It should be said that the Leopold Levitsky Memorial Museum has the largest collection of works,all thanks to his wife, who carefully preserved her husband's legacy. There are about 500 exhibits: works of all the artist's creative periods, made in different styles and genres, furniture, personal belongings of Leopold Levitsky and much more. All this collection is invaluable for the city of Lviv and allows you to get acquainted with the creativity and personality of the artist.
