The board of PR is an architectural monument, which in its time became the first educational institution of the holy order. An unusual name originated from the Latin Schola pia - "devout school", which was organized by St. Joseph Kalasansky in 1597. Piars called monks of the same Catholic order, whose mission was to educate and educate youth. For this purpose, special closed educational institutions were organized.

In the city of Lviv, the board of PR, founded in 1748 by Bishop Samuel Głovinski, became the first such educational institution. For this purpose, a baroque building with elements of classics was erected. The name of the architect was never established, but many art historians suggest that he was the Italian master Francesco Placidi.

The building of the college is made of brick, differs in U-shape, and inside it has a corridor layout, that is, the rooms are located only on one side . Piaras were widely known for their advanced teaching methods at that time. They divided students into classes, considered corporal punishment unacceptable and practiced honorable relationships between pupils and teachers.

The introduction of the Austrian secularization reform of 1782 led to the closure of the Lviv board of PR. Since that time, the building of the former educational institution housed a tobacco factory, a hospital, a medical institute, and today there is a regional clinical hospital in Lviv.
