Temple of St. Clement of the Pope

The unique, interesting, majestic church of St. Clement of the Pope, built in 1893-1895, is a former nunnery located near the center of the city of Lviv. The belfry, quadrangular columns, low ceilings, carved wooden details, unique icons, among which is found the immured figure of the crucified Christ without hands, the cross-anchor on the stone is an incomplete list of interesting objects in the temple.

No less exciting is the history of the shrine. The nuns were forced to leave their abode because of the arrival of Soviet power and the capture of the monastery. From the upheavals of that period, the temple did not depart until now, because it housed the executioner's room.

The Temple of St. Clement of the Pope has a powerful spiritual energy. Here come pilgrims from different parts of the country to a part of the relics of the saint and receive healing.
