The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Stoyanov)
The Gothic style of the architecture of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus attracts the attention of everyone who comes to the small Stoyanov. Like most Catholic churches, it was a hard fate awaiting him.
The church was erected in 1901 at the expense of the flock and the Catholic priest B. Yanor. According to the priest's idea, the new church was to correspond to all the canons of the Gothic churches of Western Europe. A small construction budget did not allow this idea to be realized.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus became the largest construction of the early 20th centuryin Stoyanov and its environs. In addition to unusual stylistics, the church stood out with realistic figures of Jesus Christ and Mother of God Ruzhantsova.
After the arrival of Soviet power in Western Ukraine, the Catholic church was abolished. The room began to function as a warehouse, as a result of which the interior decoration of the hall was almost completely destroyed. For 70 years, stained glass windows, altar and icons, as well as figures of saints, were destroyed.
In 2000, the temple returned under the patronage of the Roman Catholic Church. At the same time, its capital restoration began. According to old photographs and stories, Polish architects restored the original appearance of the church.
Today, the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus acts as a Catholic church. Its doors are open to people of all faiths.
