The external decoration of the Onufrievskaya tower-church looks much more modest than the design of the main churches of the Lavra, given the fortification function of the building. For more than three hundred years of the history of the structure, it was repeatedly rebuilt. Great damage to the building was done in 1918, as a result of the bombardment of the city by the troops of Muravyov.
Despite the long-standing origin and all the damage done, the main architectural features of the tower have survived to our time. Now inside and outside the Onufrievskaya Tower, protracted repairs are being carried out.
