The Fountain of Friendship of Peoples in Kiev has a deep history, which began at the dawn of the 20th century. In 1909 the first basin with a large central vessel was installed, the coolness of which pleased city dwellers on hot summer days. In the 1930s, several reconstructions and alterations of the fountain followed, during the Second World War the structure survived several bombardments and survived, remaining in its form until the late 1980s.

The fountain sculptures many times followed each other according to fashion, political and social ideology, and other factors. The largest building was prepared for the 1500th anniversary of the city, when a water structure with bronze elements and 1500 water jetswas added. At the same time, three statues of girls were added, symbolizing different republics, hence the name "Friendship of Peoples".

In connection with the reconstruction of Independence Square, the fountain was demolished. But he was bought by one deputy and moved to the village of Buki of the Kiev region.
