Zaborovsky's Brahma
Brama Zaborovskogo is a unique architectural monument listed in the list of objects protected by the UNESCOworld organization (together with the entire construction of Sophia of Kiev). This beautiful building was erected in 1746on the initiative of Mikhail Zaborovsky, then acting Metropolitan of Kievand Galicia.
The style of architecture is defined as the Cossack baroque, the structures of this type are almost not survived to this day. In Ukraine, they have remained a small number. Brahma is often called the "Gate of Zaborovsky", since its main function is the front entrance to the church complex of St. Sophia of Kiev.
The original construction of the brahma was changed several times and restored. The last restoration workwas carried out in 2011 on the excavated excavations of the 1950s, which allowed the closest possible re-creation of the unique beauty of the monument. He has an elegant pedimentwith lush stucco, arched spans and vaulted ceilings. Arch with columns is an ideal addition to Sophia of Kiev.
