The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

The Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul is a defensive church of great historical significance. It is believed that this is the oldest building in the city. The exact date of construction of the church is unknown, but it is known that in 1623 it was covered by Tatars.

The exact date of construction of the church is unknown, but it is known that in 1623 it was covered by Tatars. In this year Przemyshlyany got the Magdeburg right. In 1645 Elzbieta Pototskaya allocated a large sum of money for the renovation of the temple, as well as for the construction of the Dominican monastery with him.

Since the church was located outside the city wall,  It was built on all canons of defense structures. In 1730 the church was re-consecrated by Archbishop Jan Skarbek under the title of the holy apostles Peter and Paul. After the division of Rzecz Pospolita and the arrival of Austro-Hungarians to power in 1792, the Dominican monastery was closed.

After the Second World War  in the church there was a granary and factory premises.

Today it is an active Roman Catholic church, which in 1997 was consecrated for the third time.
