Salt Lake

Salt Lake is an artificially created pond 85 km from Kirovohrad. It was formed after the construction of an artificial dam on the Sukhoi River. The name was obtained from the local residents due to the properties of its waters.

A dirt road leads to the lake from the nearest village of Veselovka.

The lake has a rich supply of balneological resources. At the bottom is a thick layer of blue clay. Basically, it is used to treat diseases of bones, joints and skin diseases. The water here is very salty. It's quite hard to dive to the bottom of the object, as water saturated with salt pushes to the surface. The salinity of the waters can be explained by the fact that earlier there was the boundary of the ancient sea. Basically the banks of the Salt thicket are reeds, but there are several artificially created descents. Also here are planted shrubs.

Salt attracts tourists from different corners not only of Ukraine, but also of the near abroad. According to its medicinal properties, its clay and water are in no way inferior to the best lakes in the Crimea. This is a real balneological paradise in the center of Ukraine.
