The Gorokhov Museum of Revolutionary, Combat and Labor Glory was opened in 1967.The title "People's" museum was in 1968. The director of the museum was a local historian, veteran of labor Andrei Ivanovich Maksimenko. At that time, the museum's exposition was located on the territory of Slava Hill and was dismantled in 1975. The reason for this was that the museum was not heated, resulting in spoiled exhibits.

During 1990-1991, the museum was a branch of the Volyn Museum of Local History, and then again became public. In 2000, in honor of the 9th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, the museum was allocated a new room and the previous profile was changed - the museum became historic.

Now the exposition of the museum is represented by 1400 artifacts, which are located on two floors of the museum. The main exhibitions in the historical museum of Gorokhov are devoted to the "Formation of Ukrainian statehood" and "History of Gorokhovshchina during the Great Patriotic War", also there is a department of ethnography and a number of exhibitions of different subjects.

The museum is open on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00, on Friday from 09:00 to 17:00. The day off is Saturday and Sunday.
