Potocki Palace (Dashev)

On the steep banks of the Sor River in the Vinnytsia region is the massive Pototsky Count's palace. In the second half of the 19th century, when the building was built, distributions along the streets and house numbers did not exist. The building borrowed its name from the owner.

Thus, the newly-built palace got its name.

It is noteworthy that the estate has almost completely managed to keep its residential assignment until today. Since the second half of the 20th century there is a boarding school for mentally retarded children.

It is interesting that the Potocki Palace is one of the few buildings that only 1 family owned. Moving from father to son, the estate gradually lost its territory. During the construction, the complex of the Potocki Palace included a homestead, huge stables, several domestic premises, as well as a river and a bridge.

After the arrival of Soviet power, the river and the bridge became public property, household premises were given to the needs of workers, and the palace and stables experienced their decline. Only in 2008 began their reconstruction.

Today, most of the buildings that are once part of the estate complex are completely open to visitors. Walking along the corridors, you can see the remains of mural painting and stucco molding, which once adorned the entire palace.

In addition to the historians of the Vinnytsia region, the walls of the count's palace are very interested in photographers who find here non-standard types for photo sessions.
