The museum of wine and winemaking Shabo
In the south of Ukraine, near the city of Belgorod-Dnistrovska in the Odessa region there is a small village called Shabo. Here is an old factory with centuries-old traditions of winemaking, as well as the "Center of culture of the wine of Shabo".
This center was created to enhance the culture of consumption of noble varieties of wine and popularize a healthy lifestyle among Ukrainians.
"The center of the culture of Shabo wine" consists of several parts. This Fountain of Dionysius is the symbol of the wine of Shabo, which is presented in the form of a steel cylinder with carved figures. They depict the history of the creation of the company Shabo. The center includes several rooms - the tasting "Crystal Hall" and a cinema hall, as well as wine cellars - "The Hereditary Cellar" and "The Royal Cellar." At the "Wine Center of Wine of Shabo", the Museum of Wine and Winemaking is open to visitors - a unique invention of the company, which is the only one in the whole country.
At the entrance to the halls of the Museum maze you will see five columns, embodying five epochs of wine development in the territory of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district. The first column is dedicated to Georgia, as the country where the history of wine creation began. It is depicted in the form of a traditional Georgian vessel, from which wine is drunk. The second column epitomizes the era of colonization of the southern shores of Ukraine, especially the lands on which once a flourishing village was formed. The third column recalls the domination of the Turks in these parts and the erection of the great fortress of Akkerman. The fourth personifies the formation of the town of Shabo and the birth of a modern company with the arrival of the Swedes in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district. The fifth column symbolizes the Soviet era of the development of the wine art of Shabo.
In the main hall of the Shabo Museum you will see a sculpture of the Greek god of wine Dionysius. They say that if you rub the statue, the god of merriment will bring you prosperity and happiness. Three corridors lead from the foyer to the Historical labyrinth, the Georgian wine cellar and the Royal cellar. In the historical department, which is decorated in the style of a black box, the history of wine and winemaking of the company Shabo is vividly illustrated. The Georgian hall, fully furnished with national elements of everyday life, presents ancient technologies for creating fine Georgian wines. The Royal Cellar presents a collection of all the ancient wines of the company Shabo. About this wine cellar there are stories. He was named royal in honor of the Romanian King Carola III, who, being here, left his signature on the wall. They say that the creator Shabo Louis Tardan and the great Russian writer Alexander Pushkin in 1812 tasted these wines and held a secular conversation.
Visiting the "Wine Center of Wine of Shabo" will bring you many pleasant and unforgettable impressions. A guided tour of the center will lead you through the territory of the plant and the cultural complex.
