Historical-memorial museum of Mikhail Grushevsky

One of the most interesting places in Kiev is the museum of Mikhail Hrushevsky - the first president of the UPR. At the beginning of the last century the house in which the Grushevsky family lived was very popular. Secular parties were held here, famous figures of culture and science gathered.

Already in our time, every detail, as an integral part of the memorial house, was restored. All the lost objects were restored from photographs or preserved samples.

The modern museum was opened in 1999, its collection totals 5000 items. Here you can see a unique collection of photographs of Mikhail Hrushevsky and his family, almost all the photos came to us in a single copy. The funds of the museum contain the originals of letters from family members, other famous figures of Ukrainian science and art, the work of a scientist, editions under his editorship, books from a personal library. The pearl of the collection is the portrait of the daughter of Grushevsky - Catherine.
