An interesting place for tourists walking along Pechersk is Arsenalnaya square. It arose presumably in the 18th century and was then called Nikolskaya. Its modern name was received in 1991.

In the center of the square stands a monument to the workers of the Arsenal factory, which raised an uprising and this marked the beginning of the revolution. It is a cannon, such used in battles by workers, mounted on a pedestal of ashlar stones of red granite. The events of those days also resemble traces of bullets on the walls of the plant itself.

Arsenalnaya square is also an important transport hub. On its territory there is a metro station Arsenalnaya - the nearest exit to many sights of Kiev. For example, Mariinsky Park, Glory Park, Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and others.

If you came to Kievfor the first time, Arsenalnaya Square is the place from where to begin your acquaintance with the city. This historic part of the city does not disappoint you at all.
