The Museum of Local Lore in Odessa, according to the volume of the collected collection, is considered one of the best historical and cultural museums in the country. It was created in 1955. Among the funds included exhibits from six museums of the city, including the museum "Old Odessa". Thanks to the fruitful work of the museum's staff, about 120 thousand now are exhibited.

Presented are 6 thematic expositions, which are devoted to the history of the city from the 13th century up to the present day. Also on a regular basis, there are thematic exhibitions dedicated to significant events in the history of the region, famous people of the city, artists.

Every year the museum is visited by about 250 thousand people.There are two types of excursions - a survey, which covers all the halls and thematic exhibitions for individual rooms or new collections.
