Vintage Queens: the last German women on the planet who wear traditional costumes
In the early 2000s, German photographer Eric Schutt began working in the museum of the history of the German village, its way of life, culture, traditions. For several years, the man was so carried away by the rural life of his native country that he went on a trip to Germany to capture the last in the land of the keepers of the customs of his people.
With the help of historians and museum staff, Schutt found his "vintage queens" - elderly German women, leading a quiet, measured life in the outback and every day still, like dozens of years ago, dressed in traditional German women's suits. After the first acquaintances and conversations with these unusual old women, the photographer suddenly realized how important and meaningful his work is, because soon there will not be a single woman on the planet who embodies German authenticity.
