Sunken Atlantis: where the stone road leads off the coast of the Bahamas

The mysterious road was found by Manson Valentine at a depth of about 5-6 meters in the coastal waters of the Bimini Islands, which belong to the Bahamian Islands group. Since its discovery in September 1968, this stone structure has been the subject of research and ongoing scientific discussions.

A number of specialists, including historian David Zink, who organized several archeological expeditions to the Bimini road, believes that the submarine route from rectangular lime blocks was laid out by people. The age of stone blocks, according to radiocarbon analysis, is about 3,600 years. At the same time, studies conducted with the help of the uranium-thorium method determined the age of the stone road at 15,000 years. Therefore, with the time of building the road at the moment there is complete uncertainty. Lime blocks have a rectangular shape, and their edges are rounded, which can indicate traces of processing.

In addition to the main road, in parallel to it were found two more with a similar structure. Lime blocks, which are laid out the main road, have sizes from 2 to 4 meters, and companion roads are composed of smaller blocks, with side lengths of 1-2 meters. This arrangement of stone blocks also indicates the man-made origin of the objects, since in addition to them, such large accumulations of limestone blocks do not occur in this part of the seabed.

Supporters of the idea that this road can be connected with the secret sunken Atlantis, as the main argument lead the words of Edgar Casey. The famous American predictor told the world that in the region of the Bahamas in the late 60-ies of the XX century can be found the lost Atlantis. But apart from these neatly laid blocks in the vicinity of Bimini, no other traces of ancient civilization were found. This gave grounds to believe that stones can have a natural origin. In favor of this version, the facts of finding similar objects off the coast of Florida also speak.

Be that as it may, this year is exactly 50 years since the discovery of a stone road between the Bahamas. But, despite all the efforts, significant progress in studying this underwater facility has not yet been achieved. And who knows, maybe it is the remains of the very Atlantis, which humanity has been searching for more than one thousand years.
