10 Myths About Solar Panels

I decided to figure out what was really true and what were just silly inventions.

Myth Number One: Tanning in a solarium is worse than tanning in the sun.

This is not true. A moderate dose of UV radiation is actually essential for humans! Unfortunately, the sun emits much more of these rays that can be harmful to our skin. While we can calculate the necessary time to get a tan in a solarium, this is generally not possible outdoors. The key is to follow standard safety procedures in a solarium: use special creams, remove makeup before tanning, wear bikinis, and use a hat and sunglasses. At “Elite Sun,” all these items are included in the basic client package.

Myth Number Two: People living in northern Russia should not tan at all.

This is completely false. Where you live or your ethnicity have no impact on getting a healthy, beautiful tan. What really matters is your skin type and your overall sensitivity to ultraviolet rays.

Myth Number Three: You can only tan if you use protective creams.

Of course! Protective creams are necessary both in a solarium and outdoors. UV radiation does dry out the skin, causing it to become not only tanned but also wrinkled. “Elite Sun” uses cosmetics from the American brand “Devoted Creations” – one of the best brands for solarium use. These creams are 100% natural, containing plant extracts and vitamin complexes; they deeply moisturize the skin and contain tanning agents for a better tan. Clients can choose their desired shade themselves (repeated use of the same cream is required to achieve the desired effect).

Myth Number Four: Using a solarium improves your mood.

A solarium is a great source of vitamin D, which benefits overall health. Plus, the feeling of looking well-cared-for also brings positive emotions. Tanning in autumn and winter, when people often feel depressed due to vitamin deficiencies and lack of sunlight, can be particularly beneficial.

Myth Number Five: You can cure a cold by using a solarium.

Indeed, doctors sometimes recommend sunbathing for this purpose. However, treating a cold certainly requires more than just UV radiation. By the way, pregnant women can tan – but it’s important to consult a doctor first.

Myth Number Six: Men and solariums don’t go together.

Far from it! About 30% of our clients at “Elite Sun” are men – not just young guys, but also older men. They often buy the highest-quality creams and VIP memberships for premium cabins. We even offer men’s cosmetics specifically for them; their quality and ingredients are the same as those for women’s products, but they have a masculine fragrance.

Myth Number Seven: You shouldn’t use a solarium before the age of 15 or after the age of 40.

There are no specific contraindications regarding this. However, after 40, the skin becomes more sensitive, so extra caution is needed. As for young girls… We try not to allow them under 18 years old to use the solarium, but it’s hard to determine their age at first glance sometimes. Young girls may overuse tanning services, which is dangerous and looks extremely unnatural. We certainly don’t want parents to come and complain about their children getting “too tan!”

Myth Number Eight: A solarium that isn’t turned on properly is a waste of money.

Not at all! UV radiation starts being emitted within three seconds after the device is turned on. Let’s compare it to an ordinary light bulb: once it’s switched on, it emits the same amount of light whether it’s on for one hour or ten hours. The same applies to a solarium.

Myth Number Nine: A vertical tanning cabin is better than a horizontal one.

That depends on what you need. Horizontal cabins are great for tanning your legs, while vertical cabins are better for your upper body.

Myth Number Ten: The door of a solarium might close and never open again.

Yes, this can happen… And we only open it again for an additional fee.
