Choral synagogue (religious building, 1850)
The large choral synagogue in Berdichev was built in 1850 with the funds of a large Jewish community of the city (up to 93% of the population were Jews). The Berdichev synagogue was one of the first choral synagogues in the Russian Empire.
Monumentality and dimensions pointed to its significant role in the life of the city community. In 1929, the temple was turned into a club, and during the German occupation - destroyed. After the war, the surviving Jewish sheathed Berdichev restored the synagogue, but in 1964 the city authorities seized the building and opened the glove factory in the temple building, which still works.
