The world's largest beech hedge Meikleour Beech Hedges

At first glance, it seems only as a well-groomed ridge of trees. The hedge was founded in 1745 by a married couple, but was developed immediately after the death of the husband by the wife. This was done in memory of his wife. Annually, a group of four workers produces the necessary circumcision of the hedge. For this, a hydraulic lift and equipment for manual cutting are used. The total workload is an average of six weeks. Meikleour Beech Hedges is officially included in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest beech hedge.
