Trostyanets Park

justify ">In the Chernihiv region, there is a small village called Trostyanets, known for the largest dendrological park in Europe, spread over 204 hectares of land.

Trostyanetsky dendropark owes its appearance to the descendant of the Ukrainian hetman family of Skoropadsky - ndash; Ivan Mikhailovich. In 1820, he inherited the village Trostyanets, and he decided to create the most beautiful Ukrainian park. In 1836, they began to plant trees, bushes and other plants where the oak grove was already growing. Several hundred-year-old mighty oaks have survived until now, and you can see them by visiting Trostyants. Designers of the Trostyanetsky dendrological park were involved in the middle of the 19th century by the designers of the landscape Evstigneev brothers. The chief gardener Ivan Skoropadsky appointed Karl Shillingoff. According to his landscape sketches, man-made hills were poured, this part of the park became known as Switzerland & raquo ;. There is a legend that says that the profile of the Swiss Alps was created on the special order of Skoropadsky. The fact that his beloved was a native of Switzerland, and that the girl was less bored byhouse, Karl Schlingloof was commissioned to create landscapes familiar to her heart.

In Trostyanetsky dendrological park there is a large pond, the width of which is one hundred meters, while its length reaches one and a half kilometers. You will see two more ponds & ndash; Kutsihsky and Swan. To the right of the Great Pond there are built high slides, the height of each exceeds thirty meters. Man-made hills have their own names & ndash; Dedova Hill, Shaggy, Rotunda and the Watchtower. Names were also received by glades on which birch, oak, spruce, maple, linden and pine were planted, as well as exotic plants. They were brought from the botanical gardens of Kiev, the Karazin acclimatization garden, Paris, St. Petersburg and Riga. Some varieties were first successfully induced in Trostyanetsky dendrological park. Basically, exotic shrubs and flowers were planted between the Tisovaya, Kedrovaya, and Orekhovoi glades. Here you will see tablets with names such as & laquo; Taras Shevchenko's glade & raquo ;, & laquo; Eight Brothers & raquo ;, & la Three Tri sisters » ;, & laquo; Solar & raquo; and many others. In total there are 623 species of trees and shrubs in Trostyants. About 40% of the plantations are coniferous plants, which fill the entire park with a pleasant aroma. Throughout Trostyanetsky dendrological park there are ground paths that lead to interesting places.

In addition to a variety of plants, there are such inhabitants of the fauna as otters, muskrats, badgers, roe deer, martens and even foxes. In the ponds ducks and swans live, and with a dozen birds.

Some architectural and sculptural creations have survived, such as the Old Manor, the Verkhovyna Bridge, the Modrinova Alley with benches near the "wish tree", the Scythian women and the "Seal of Grief". There is also a marble monument, which depicts an angel. The pedestal is carved with the words that every visitor should keep this magnificent garden clean.
