The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built of ashlar in the second half of the 18th century. The author of the project was August Moshinsky. Construction began in 1749, and in 1779 the church was consecrated. Then in the cathedral there were several altars: St. Vincentius of Ferrara, Mother of God of the Rosary, St. Albert and St. Thomas Aquinas, Crucified Jesus Christ, St. Dominic, Jacek and Neslav, St. Mary Magdalene and St. Thekla. Especially struck by the frescoes of the cathedral, which told about the history of the Order of Dominicans. The authorship of the frescoes of the frescoes of the side naves belonged to Josef Hoinicki. No less elegant was the work of the famous Polish artist Stanislav Stroinsky. It was his paintings that became the decoration of the interior of the temple.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the temple was restored according to the project of architect Vladislav Sadlovsky, and the artist Karol Politinsky restored the old ones and painted new murals. The clock was installed on the tower, and a statue of the patron saint of the temple, St. Vincent, was placed on the square near the temple. In April 1944, during the battles for Ternopil, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was severely damaged. Mural paintings were destroyed, the church dome, the tower was destroyed. In the walls of the temple there were warehouses, an art gallery. And only at the end of the last century the shrine was given to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). Since 1989, here is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin. New paintings in the church were made by artist Yury Zhuravsky. And the community did everything to make the temple light and cozy.

In addition to the cathedral, on the territory of the complex you can see ancient buildings, still known as Dominican. Also to the left of the main entrance to the cathedral there is a monument to Patriarch Iosif Slepom, and to the right - a granite cross in honor of the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Ternopil Eparchy of the UGCC.
