The Shade of Pushkin, Odessa

Art-object & laquo; Shade of Pushkin & raquo; appeared in Odessa in 2013. An unusual monument to the famous writer is a three-meter figure made of specially processed brick and stone pavers. This kind of coverage of Odessa streets was during Pushkin's life in the city in 1823.

The interesting slope of the image creates the impression of a shadow motion, and the silhouette itself & ndash; this is one of the copies of the author's sketches, well known from his manuscripts.

The place of the shadow installation was chosen not accidentally, Pushkin lived here during the 13 months of exile. In the 19th century, at the corner of Richelieu and Deribasovskaya streets, there was a hotel in which the famous writer rented a room for livingin the first few months. Another remarkable monument to Pushkin is very close. A full-length bronze sculpture is installed on the sidewalk, the poet is depicted as a 24-year-old boy, who came to Odessa at the dawn of the 19th century.
