Monument to Kalinin, Dnepropetrovsk

Monument to Mikhail Ivanovich Kalinin was installed at the beginning of the park of the same name along the prospectus of Sergei Nigoyan. Until the winter of 2015, he also bore the name of outstanding statesman and revolutionaryMikhail Kalinin. The monument is a stone bust depicting a figure aged 45-50 years. Established November 6, 1967 on the day of the Great October Revolution, which was traditionally celebrated in early November. Sculptors Shchedrov and Chekanev worked on the bust, whose works are famous for the city.

History of ascent

Michael Kalinin was born in the poorest peasant family in the Russian outback. In the 1880s, being very young, I found myself a simple lackey to one of the local landowners, in order to feed myself somehow. Work in the role of domestic servant largely shaped the future revolutionary, who also managed to read hundreds of useful books and receive basic education on their basis. After 20 years I became a student at a factory in St. Petersburg. Here Kalinin regularly visited various circles of freethinkers. Later he began to lead them and determine the direction. The nickname of the "All-Russia elder", given to Kalinin by the revolutionary Trotsky, is the best characteristic of the character of Mikhail Ivanovich.

Merit to the Fatherland

After several attempts to sue Kalinin in the early 1900s, it formed a certain trait to fight to the last. For all his political activities, he reached the maximum heights and was awarded the Hero of Labor, two orders and two medals. In the former CIS countries there are dozens of monuments to Kalinin, named in his honor streets, townships, lanes, parks and other things.
