History of Babushkin in Dnepropetrovsk

Ivan Vasilyevich Babushkin was born in a remote Russian outback and at a young age decided on his life position. As a teenager, he finds himself in a revolutionary circle under the leadership of Lenin. And there he becomes his first successor, companion and successor. Wherever Babushkin was during his lifetime, he everywhere glorified Leninismand created public organizations with similar ideas. For such an active position in 1897, 24-year-old Ivan is sent into exile in the then Ekaterinoslav. The city was considered southern in the empire and safe from the point of view of revolutionary intentions. The situation changed Babushkin's appearance in the city. He immediately organized like-minded people, united groups of young Communists and for years illegally increased the forces of the revolution. Three years later he was declassified and sent to Chita, where he was shot without trial, when he was caught at one of the city's stations with a large number of weapons for a future coup d'état.

In modern Dnepropetrovsk, there is a whole district named after him, a street and a monument. Babushkin made an invaluable contribution to the history of the early 20th century, being true to his ideas about the freedom and equality of all Soviet citizens.
