Zolotuha Mountain is located in the vicinity of the city of Romny in the Sumy region. This place was famous due to the fact that the first oil in Ukraine was found on its territory. Surroundings of the mountain, like the mountain deposits themselves, are rich in minerals. Beautiful nature makes the mountain a picturesque place.

Mount Zolotuha is located in the vicinity of the city of Romny in the Sumy region. This place became known due to the fact that on its territory was found the first oil in Ukraine. Surroundings of the mountain, like the mountain deposits themselves, are rich in minerals. Beautiful nature makes the mountain a picturesque place.

In the vicinity of Zolotuha there is a chapel erected in the name of the New Martyrs of the Cyrill, who died in this place on September 15, 1918, at the hands of the Bolsheviks. They shot four laymen, as well as Bishop Varsonofy and Father Superior Ferapontov from the monastery of Seraphim.

The efforts of search engines in the summer of 2000 on Mount Zolotukh were excavated, the purpose of which was to search for the remains of the martyrs. A year later, the attempts continued. Unfortunately, excavations were unsuccessful.
