Akhtyrsky Holy Trinity Monastery

Holy Trinity Monastery in the village of Chernetzina - is one of the oldest in Ukraine. The construction of the monastery is shrouded in many legends. Presumably, it was founded in 1654, after the intercession of Hegumen Ioannicius to the tsar. The monastery was closed many times and reopened throughout its existence. The monastery was famous for its temples and miraculous iconsuntil the 1917 revolution year, when the new government closed it again. Once again the monastic monastery was opened and restored only in 2002, since then historical documents, icons and monastic way have been restored.

The building of the monastery is represented by impressive towers of red brick and picturesque temples with a rich iconostasis and church utensils. High arches of windows on the bell towers, many small windows and strict lines of the building reflect the beauty of Ukrainian church architecture of the late 17th century. The building was as authentically reconstructed in accordance with historical records.
