Monument to Hussar, Sumy
Nearby to the Sumy Municipal Gallery is a house in which guests often stayed heroes of the Russo-French war are hussars. Their names are imprinted on a plaque, attached to the facade of the building. In December 2011, a monument was erected in honor of the heroes near their favorite vacation spot.
The face of the bronze hussar reminds the hero of the Russian-French war, D. Davydov, but the height is slightly higher than the original - 178 cm. The weight of the statue is about 140 kg. It took 2 months to work on the monument to the sculptor B. Lukljan. Initially, the figure was poured from the wax and only after that it was made of bronze by Kharkov masters.
Annually, on their graduation day, the Sumy Cadets paint the hussar's epaulettes and lanterns.
