Sukhanov-Sumovsky Estate

Maecenas and one of the richest Sumy merchants N. Sukhanov built a magnificent two-story building in 1895. The attraction attracts attention by a beautiful facade, decorated with balconies, pilasters, stucco, two-color range of floors, relief protrusions. The magnificent estate already at that time was equipped with electric lighting and good technique. The manor house, together with the economic building and office, is located in the park, which is protected by curved grilles and forged gates.

The farmstead is connected to the office by an underground passage.

The subsequent owner of the estate was the family of I. Sumovsky, and a little later in the estate housed the Bolsheviks. At one time there was the headquarters of the Red Army, the city party committee and even a kindergarten.

At the end of the 20th century, the estate was taken over by office employees and organizations. At the moment, the premises of the estateare divided into parts, in which the Institute of Applied Physics, the Banking Academy and the Department of OCD are located.
