Tereshchenko Palace, Chervonoye
This palace is located in the town of Chervonoye, Zhytomyr region. The building is made in the Neo-Gothic styleand stands out against the background of other buildings in this area . The palace was built by Polish officer Adolf Grokholsky. He was twice married, but no marriage brought him an heir, so the palace went to his second wife, who sold the village together with the castle to Nikolay Tereshchenko. He handed the palace to Fedor Tereshchenko, who gave the building the kind that we now have. Fedor did a lot of charity work and even was an honorary citizen in Kiev. In 1870 he built a sugar factory in Chervon, which still works today. He reconstructed the palace a little, made the towers lower by 2 tiers, added a portico with a balcony in front of the main tower, gave it a gothic look.
Now the palace is given to a convent, there is no money for its reconstruction, and it is gradually being destroyed. It looks very impressive. Until now, the cast-iron fountain, beautiful towers, many Gothic elements have been preserved on the territory of the palace- all this is fascinating and leaves an indelible impression of being in this palace.
