The Church of St. Mitrofan

In Bolgrad, the Odessa region is the church of St. Mitrofan. However, local residents refer to this church as "the Inzov Pantheon" or "Inzov's Tomb". Here are buried the remains of General Ivan Nikitich Inzov. He was the guardian of the Bulgarian settlers and advocated the equation of their rights with the German colonists. The general died in 1845 in Odessa, just one year after the end of the church's construction.

The temple was erected on the territory of the cemetery in the 40s of the 19th century in classical style from shell rock, the material most accessible at that time. Evenly, along the perimeter of the temple, windows are distributed, and above them - square niches. Separation of walls and a dome is a cornice. The building is topped with a dome with lunettes.
