How much the ancient walls of the dilapidated temple conceal in itself! How many fates were associated with the ruins of the old Cossack church. Silent witnesses of warrior and destruction, victories and festivals resurrect in our imagination those distant times when life was boiling here.

The Trinity Church was built in 1784 on the site of a wooden, which lasted 200 years. The Cossack regimental colonel was bustling about her erection. In fact, for a long time Ostrouye was the patrimony of Ukrainian Cossacks. Only in the early 18th century, Peter I took the village away from the Cossack-eldershchina family, who emigrated with Hetman Ivan Mazepa.

Divine services were held in the church until the arrival of the Bolsheviks. Under Soviet rule, the church was turned into a store. Alas, the temple did not manage to resume its work.Now you can find the picturesque ruins of the cult structure a bit away from the center of the village.

By the way, in the village there is another church, which was much more fortunate - St. Nicholas Church with a bell tower.This active shrine is an architectural monument of the early 19th century.
