Church-ethnographic complex Ukrainian village

The Church-ethnographic complex "Ukrainian village" is located just 15 kilometers from Kiev along the Zhitomir highway. It occupies quite a vast and, at the same time, very compact territory, which is decorated in the best traditions of the Ukrainian culture of the 19th century.

Ethno-park is conveniently divided into thematic zones. Acquaintance with the complex begins with the church zone, where there is a functioning temple of St. Dimitry of Thessalonica. From it the construction of an open-air museum began. There is also a parafial school, and the grotto of the icon of the Mother of God "Life-giving source" with carved icons and mosaic-smalt.

The second zone of the "Ukrainian Village" introduces visitors to the housing of six historical and cultural regions of Ukraine: Podol, Middle Naddnepryanschiny, Slobozhanshchyna, Polesie, Carpathians and the South. Here you can not just consider the old huts inside and out. Looking into the premises, you can understand the spirit and way of life of that time. There is also a unique collection of tools for field work. And those who wish can take part in master classes to their liking: to learn blacksmithing, some craft or needlework.

Getting to the church-ethnographic complex is not difficult. If you do not have your own car, it will be most convenient to get to the "Ukrainian village" by a shuttle bus from the Kiev metro station "Svyatoshin".
