The Museum of Local Lore, Boyarka
The Ostrovsky Museum was opened in honor of the 70th anniversary of the talented playwright.
The museum is located in a separate building on the school grounds. Here, in 1921, lived the playwrightamong the builders of the narrow gauge railway.
Many interesting things can be seen in the museum now. Basically, this is the legacy of the writer Ostrovsky: the book "How the Steel Was Tempered" in different languages, photographs, documents, things. Also there is a monument to Ostrovsky. It is located in front of the museum. There remains here the legacy of the Great Patriotic War, archaeological finds of the past and tools of construction of narrow-gauge railway builders. There is a video of the film "How the Steel Was Tempered" in 1942 and a video of 1999 filmed by Chinese filmmakers. This is one of the reasons for the popularity of the museum among the Chinese. Many people from different countries also come here. This museum is a huge property of the inhabitants of the small Boyarka and all of Ukraine. In addition, the city is worth a visit to St. Michael's Church.
