Lake Superior

Lake Verkhnee is located in the Rakhiv district at an altitude of more than 1600 meters above sea level. Clean, mineralized water like a mirror reflects a massive blue sky, creating the impression of a huge portal. The place where the lake rests comfortably with its pristine beauty. It's not difficult to find it on the south-western slope of the main Montenegrin ridgewithin the reserve.

The depth of the lake of 3 meters will not surprise you, but it will certainly hit the temperature of the water - in summer the maximum is selected only to the mark of +13. But in winter this place is perfect for figure skating. And you can be absolutely calm - the water freezes completely, to the very bottom. The banks are strewn with fragments of conglomerates, and the bottom itself is covered with a layer of light gray mud. Because the beach season here and does not open. The lake feeds on precipitation.

To get to this amazing place, you can mainly by your own. For example, to lay a route to it along the faultless mountain ranges of the Carpathians. Alternatively, you can purposefully leave the nearest settlement - Goverla village - for a few days to study the beautiful nature of the lake.

Lake Superior is surrounded by majestic mountains, including Goverla, as well as spacious poloniny and other water bodies.
