St. Nicholas Cathedral, Berdichev

St. Nicholas Cathedral is located in the central part of Berdichev. Built a temple in the distant 1908 on the site of the ancient church of St. Nicholas.

The temple ensemble includes several buildings of the Byzantine era - the very building of the cathedral and the bell tower on three tiers. The temple has a beautiful metal fence, and its the brilliant domes can be seen a few kilometers.

The church still contains a legendary icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The architectural style of the stone church is late Baroque, or as it is also called - Rococo. The interior of the church is very rich. Here you have the opportunity to see the extraordinary beauty of murals on the wall, rare icons, exclusive attributes,which is used during the ministry in the church. The cozy church courtyard is covered with tiles made of stone and densely planted with various trees.

The cathedral is the main Orthodox church in the city. Since 1996, it was renamed the St. Nicholas Cathedral.
