Assumption Church in Tyachiv
City Tyachiv in the Transcarpathian region is not similar to other Ukrainian cities because of the mixing of different cultures: Ukrainian, Hungarian, Slovak. Therefore, among others, there was a place for a cult structure like the Assumption Church. This Greek Catholic church built on the site of a wooden church in 1889, during its existence, managed to survive not the most best times for themselves. The fact is that in 1948, when the Greek Catholic Church was banned, the church was transferred to the Orthodox community and only in 2009 the Greek Catholic was returned to the shrine.
On the tower of the facade are two huge bells. One of them was cast for the cathedral in the Romanian city of Sighet. The iconostas, which can be seen today in the temple, was made by masters from Budapest, which once again confirms the mixture of cultures.
In general, the building itself is quite beautiful and attracts the attention of tourists. In addition, in the temple itself and around it reigns its atmosphere of calm and positive energy, the influence of which can be felt on yourself. The shrine is located in the central part of the city (on Koshut Street), so it will not be difficult to find it.
