In Kiev, on Victory Square, stands a 43-meter obelisk. This is a reminder of one of the most tragic pages of the history of the city - the heroic defense that Kiev courageously held during World War II. 71 days Soviet troops resisted fascists, 700 thousand people fell, defending the Mother of Russian cities.

For his services to the Motherland, Kiev received the title "Hero City"and the Gold Star medal. In 1982, on the most beautiful square of the city, a majestic obelisk was erected, on which images of two commemorative awards were engraved.

The stela, lined with white marble, is crowned with a gilded star. The most effective obelisk, drowning in the lights of artistically selected lighting, looks at night.
