Church of St. Paraskeva, Mirnoe
The Church of the Reverend Paraskeva of Serbian in the village of Mirnoe is a large temple with a high bell tower and spacious halls. It was built in the late 19th century in the style of ecclesiastical eclecticism. Beautiful building with a solemn exterior contrasts sharply with other buildings of the village. It can be seen from afar, towering over the low roofs of private houses.
The decision to build a major stone temple was made in 1874 after the small chapel that stood in its place was destroyed. The church became an Old Believer church and in 1898 it was significantly expanded, increasing the total area of the church. A lot of unusual stories are connected with this event: additions were recognized as illegal, the village authorities demanded large fines, which were later replaced by years of imprisonment.
The modern temple of St. Paraskeva is in effect, it retains the inner beauty of the walls with the original decor, well restored exterior facade.
