Museum of Forest Song

In a picturesque the village Skuline, which is in Volhynia, in the Polissya thickets, near the protected lake is hidden from prying eyes "Lesin Nook". Famous Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka drew its inspiration here.As a child, a guest in the summer with her uncle, she absorbed the magical atmosphere of this region, listened to stories about amazing creatures that lived in local forests - woodpeckers, mermaids ... Volyn legends inspired Lesya Ukrainka to create beautiful literary works. In her drama "Forest Song", the poet described the natural boundary of Necheninewith its enchanted lake.

Near the pond, fans of Lesya Ukrainka's creativity built a small house in honor of the great poetess. Since then, tens of years have passed. The house did not survive - it was burnt during a forest fire. And the enchanted paths leading to the modest monastery were covered with grass. For a long time the forest corner, which is located among the marshes, was not accessible to tourists.

Only in 2004 the local authorities decided to pave the way to the reserved place. They also built a small area, where now poetry holidays "Lesina Song" are held. Then the Museum of Forest Song appeared.It was created near the place where Uncle Lesya Ukrainka used to live.

There are many exhibits in the two-story cottage: photographs, books, letters and documents relating to the life of the Ukrainian poet. After visiting it, you can learn more about the magic corner in Volhynia and the history of the creation of the drama-extravaganza "Forest Song".
