Beacon Freedom

Beacon Freedom is simultaneously the smallest statue in Ukraineand the most unusual lighthouse in the whole country. At the same time, Freedom is the first lighthouse in Transcarpathia. This statue in its "wardrobe" has so far only 10 dresses, but this is temporary. It is planned to break the record of the famous "Manneken Pis", the number of orders of which already exceeds 800.

A mini statue 17 cm high was created by the Uzhgorod sculptor Mikhail Kolodko. The customer was the Admiral of the Transcarpathian River Fleet. The main function of mini-sculpture is to serve as a beacon. On July 27, 2010, the opening day of the Uzhhorod river regatta, the Freedom lighthouse was installed on the embankment railing. The small flashlight in his hand flashes constantly day and night.

The inhabitants of Transcarpathia have long been famous for their imagination. They constantly come up with something to surprise and even more to attract their guests. With their mini-beacon, they hit the mark. Almost all the guests of Uzhgorod try to visit Freedom, especially in the dark, when the illumination comes on.

It is especially interesting to see the Uzhgorod lighthouse during any celebration. For the Statue of Liberty, fashion designers specially sewed various versions of toilets that fully correspond to calendar and public holidays.
